Austin Community College District (ACC) welcomes students for the spring 2024 semester on Tuesday, January 16. ACC employees will station at all 11 campuses this week to greet students and hand out swag as they arrive for the start of the semester.
More students are expected to be back at ACC this spring. As of Monday, January 8, overall student enrollment was up 5%, with overall credit hours up almost 7% — meaning more students are enrolling in more classes. New student enrollment also increased more than 7%. Registration is up in all areas of study, with the highest enrollment increases in Design, Manufacturing, Construction, and Applied Technologies, Liberal Arts, Science, Engineering, and Math, Arts & Digital Media, and Computer Science and Information Technology.
ACC offers free student support, including additional financial options to help students pay for college. Other resources to provide support both in and outside the classroom also remain available, most at no cost to students, including a food pantry, mental health counseling, child care vouchers and centers, tutoring, or assistance connecting with community resources.
Registration remains open for students who need more time to enroll or want a faster learning experience. ACC offers 14-, 12-, and 8-week options to give students still working through the application and registration process more time to finish their steps and begin class on time.
