Get help finding money for college! ACC offers special FAFSA workshops & 1-on-1 support in February

Just in time for Financial Aid Month in February, the new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form is now open. Austin Community College District (ACC) hosts sessions all month long to help current and future students apply for the 2024-25 school year.

Students are encouraged to apply early. Financial aid is distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis. A team with the college will work with each student directly to explore options, help them complete the new application, and ultimately connect them with funds for college.

“Figuring out how to pay for college remains one of the biggest barriers our students face. Many families are eligible for financial support. Our goal is to connect them with the best options to pay for college,” says Belinda Peña, ACC associate director of Financial Aid and Veterans Outreach. “Understanding and simplifying the new FAFSA process is crucial. Our students must get the support they need to fill out the new form quickly to qualify for increased financial aid.”

The new FAFSA is designed to expand eligibility for more people, but the process looks a little different this year. ACC’s Financial Aid Office is committed to guiding students through the application changes
Students seeking guidance on financial support options may contact an ACC advisor.
