The Art Galleries at ACC hosts Material Evolution exhibition

The Art Galleries (TAG) at Austin Community College invites students, faculty, staff, and the community to view its current exhibition, Material Evolution: Selected Work from the Texas Sculpture Group

The exhibition, which runs through March 17, includes artworks from over twenty Texas Sculpture Group members and highlights an array of traditional and modern techniques in sculpture. Participants can also visit the TAG In-Gallery Programming to explore topics surrounding art-making, art history, museum studies, and more.

Join artists Matthew Isaacson and Valérie Chaussonnet to discuss their scale use in their works, which utilize ceramic and metal materials.

Wednesday, February 28, 5 – 6 p.m. | Texas Sculpture Group Artist Talks: Art + Gender
Highland Campus, Gallery 2000
Join artists Sarah Hirneisen and Erin Cunningham in a discussion on gender roles and expectations through their artworks.

TAG works to present the outstanding artistic achievements of ACC students, faculty, staff, and alumni. The space provides educational spaces that cultivate creativity, critical thinking, and intellectual discourse, complementing the ACC Art Department program curriculum and other disciplines.

The galleries are free and open to the public on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., located in Buildings 2000 and 4000 at ACC’s Highland campus.
