ACC celebrates largest graduation cohort of Vet Tech students

Austin Community College District (ACC) celebrates new grads from the Veterinary Technology Program. On Friday, August 2, friends and family gathered for a special completion ceremony at the Elgin Campus to honor 16 new graduates — the largest graduating cohort to date.

Students shared the highs and lows of their journey, heard a speech from a former graduate,  and watched a slideshow of their journey through the program. The graduates also presented Dr. Kerry Coombs, Vet Tech program department chair, with a hand-painted bench so “that he may not struggle to get his boots on before their weekly large animal lab in years to come.”

A message from Vet Tech faculty and staff to the graduates: “We were blown away by the thoughtfulness and sincerity of this class. We will miss them greatly and expect them to follow in past years’ footsteps by passing their national board exams with a 100% success rate.”
