Austin Community College District (ACC) welcomes students for the fall 2024 semester on Monday, August 26. Hundreds of ACC employees will station at all 11 campuses this week to greet students as they arrive for the start of the semester.
The campuses will see more activity, with more students enrolled at the College this fall. As of Friday, August 23, overall student enrollment was up more than 13% from last year. ACC is seeing a big increase—up more than 23%—in new-to-college students, including from the Free Tuition Pilot Program, transfers from other schools, dual credit, and adult learners.
Registration is up in all areas of study, with the highest enrollment increases in:
- Business,
- Science, Engineering, and Math,
- Health Sciences,
- Public and Social Services,
- and Liberal Arts.
ACC offers free student support to help start strong and stay on track. Support resources include, but are not limited to, campus food pantries, mental health counseling, child care vouchers and centers, tutoring, and assistance connecting with community resources.
Registration remains open for students who need more time to enroll or want a faster learning experience. ACC offers 14-, 12-, and 8-week options to give students more time to finish their application and registration steps and begin class on time.
