ACC hosts Poll Monitor Training Sessions ahead of November election

Austin Community College District (ACC) takes an active role in helping the community be well-prepared to exercise their right to vote. National Voter Education Week –– a nonpartisan campaign that helps voters find polling locations, understand ballots, plan to vote, and inspire others to get involved –– runs from Monday, October 7, through Friday, October 11. It empowers voters to overcome barriers and become confident community ambassadors for every election.

As part of the week, ACC offers Poll Monitor Training workshops for those interested in supporting voters at the polls. Those who complete the workshops are eligible to serve as a nonpartisan poll monitor. Monitors help voters understand how to cast their ballots and ensure their votes are properly counted. Poll monitors are also key in providing accurate information and combating any confusion or misinformation surrounding the election process.

Upcoming ACC Poll Monitor Training Workshops

  • Monday, October 7, at 1 p.m. – ACC Riverside Presentation Hall
  • Thursday, October 10, at 4 p.m. – ACC Highland Presentation Hall

Volunteers who complete the training will be the first line of defense in protecting voters’ rights and promoting an informed electorate.

Early voting begins on Monday, October 21, and runs until Friday, November 1, with Election Day on Tuesday, November 5.
