Three Austin Community College District (ACC) Board of Trustees seats were on the ballot for the November 5 General Election. Voters elected Trustees for Places 7, 8, and 9.
Below are the results as of 7 a.m. on Wednesday, November 6, 2024
Place 7
The current Board Chair and long-serving member of Place 7, Dr. Barabara P. Mink, did not seek reelection. Two candidates — Cole Wilson and Sherri Lynn Taylor — ran for the vacant seat. Sherri Lynn Taylor is the projected winner.
Sherri Lynn Taylor –– 57.5%
Cole Wilson –– 42.5%
Place 8
The Place 8 incumbent, Trustee Stephanie Gharakhanian, ran unopposed. She will retain her seat.

Place 9
The Place 9 seat included incumbent Trustee Julie Ann Nitsh and former ACC employee Joseph Sefton. Julie Ann Nitsch is the projected winner.
Julie Ann Nitsh –– 70.6%
Joseph Sefton –– 29.4%
ACC board members serve staggered six-year terms and are elected at-large by registered voters who live within the ACC District, which includes the City of Austin as well as the newly-annexed Lockhart ISD territory and Austin, Leander, Manor, Del Valle, Round Rock, Elgin, and Hays school districts.
Comprehensive election results are available on the ACC Elections website. The Board will hold a special meeting on Thursday, November 14, to certify the results.
