ACC announces $15,000 gift from Moody Center

Austin Community College District (ACC) and the ACC Foundation announce a major gift from Moody Center, Austin’s premier entertainment venue, to fund the Moody Center Endowed Scholarship at ACC. The $15,000 gift, made through Austin Arena Company’s community platform Red River Rising, will provide ongoing support for aspiring music business professionals enrolled in ACC’s Audio Technology & Industry Program.

“We are deeply grateful to Moody Center for their generous support in helping us meet the needs of our students,” says ACC Chancellor Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart. “Music is the heartbeat of Central Texas, and this endowed scholarship is a testament to the power of collaboration in removing barriers and empowering students to follow their dreams. With Moody Center’s support, our students will have the chance to thrive in the vibrant music industry that defines our community.”

Recipients of the Moody Center Endowed Scholarship will not only receive financial support but will also gain access to mentorship and shadowing opportunities with Moody Center’s award-winning team, providing invaluable industry insights and hands-on experiences.

“The music industry is constantly evolving, and we’re committed to nurturing the next generation of talent,” says Jeff Nickler, Moody Center’s general manager. “This is a significant investment in the future of the music business and will provide ongoing support to ACC students for years to come.”

The Moody Center Endowed Scholarship will be available beginning fall 2025. Applications for all ACC scholarships, including this one, open on January 15.
