ACC Announces Opening of 2025 Scholarship Season

Austin Community College District (ACC) announces the opening of its 2025 scholarship season. Scholarships provide students an opportunity to apply for money that can help reduce financial barriers and support their educational and career aspirations.

“Scholarships hold the power to transform lives. They provide students with the opportunity to focus on their studies without the overwhelming stress of financial burdens. ACC is committed to helping students succeed by removing these barriers and supporting their educational journeys,” says ACC Chancellor Dr. Russell Lowery-Hart. “These scholarships can be a lifeline, enabling students to thrive both academically and professionally.”

In 2024, ACC disbursed approximately $1.4 million in scholarships. About 5,000 students applied for scholarships, a 10% increase from 2023.

New Scholarships for 2025:

Moody Center Endowed Scholarship – A $15,000 gift from the Moody Center, Austin’s premier entertainment venue, through the Red River Rising community platform, will fund this new scholarship. It will provide ongoing support to students pursuing careers in the music business, specifically those enrolled in ACC’s Audio Technology & Industry Program.

Dr. John and Suanne Roueche Endowed Scholarship – Dr. John Roueche gifted the College more than $300,000 to help fund multiple endowed scholarships for ACC students. In addition to the Drs. John and Suanne Roueche Endowed Scholarship, the gift funds the Pamela Williams Sutton Endowed Scholarship and the Ann Schubert Endowed Scholarship.

Eligibility and Considerations
While scholarships are available to a broad range of students, applicants must meet certain eligibility requirements, such as maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.5. The College is also evaluating ways to better support students who do not receive a scholarship to ensure they are aware of other financial aid options.
