The Austin Community College District (ACC) Board of Trustees met for its regular meeting on Monday, April 7. The Board voted to maintain tuition and fees for 12 straight years and received updates on a new expansion at the Eastview Campus.
Below are highlights from the meeting.
ACC Maintains Tuition & Fees for 12th Consecutive Year
For 12 straight years, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved maintaining tuition rates for the 2025-26 academic year. In-district students at ACC will continue to pay $67 per credit hour for tuition—with fees, it comes to $85 per credit hour. The out-of-district fee will remain the same at $201 per credit hour.
IT Data Center Equipment Agreement
The Board approved to allow the administration to negotiate and execute a 5-year contract with Dell Financial Services/Sequel Data Systems for IT data center equipment. This move is part of a larger effort to modernize the College’s technology, strengthen cybersecurity, and improve system reliability.
As part of the agreement, ACC will enter a Transformational Licensing Agreement (TLA), which offers flexible software use, 0% interest financing, and ensures our equipment stays up to date and remains fully supported during the contract.
These upgrades will shift ACC to an enterprise-level data center setup through a partnership with the University of Texas. Other improvements include better network monitoring tools, more efficient data and network systems, and reclaimed space at the Service Center and Highland Business Center.
Pharmacy Technician Classroom Renovation at Eastview Campus
The ACC Board of Trustees approved allowing the administration to negotiate and execute a contract for the Pharmacy Technician Classroom Renovation Project at Eastview Campus. The project will convert an existing shell space into an instructional classroom for the Pharmacy Technician program. After reviewing submitted proposals, the College recommended moving forward with Linbeck Group, LLC, based on overall rankings. The estimated project cost is about $340,000 and will be funded through ACC’s Facilities Improvement Budget.
Board Approves Contract Negotiation for Advanced Manufacturing
The ACC Board of Trustees approved allowing the administration to move forward on a contract to purchase a Benchtop Three-Dimensional (3D) Optical Surface Profilometer Equipment System to support the Advanced Manufacturing Department at the Riverside Campus. The advanced metrology instrument allows students in nanotechnology credit courses and continuing education programs to precisely measure and analyze microchips and semiconductors. The estimated equipment cost is $174,457 and will be funded through ACC’s partnership with the University of Texas at Austin for the Texas Institute for Electronics.
