Experience the wonders of the universe—right here in Austin. Austin Community College District (ACC) invites the community to its Spring Star Party on Friday, April 11, at the Riverside Campus.
Location: ACC Riverside Campus
Time: Begins at 7 p.m.
Admission: Free and open to the public
Hosted by ACC’s Astronomy Department, the Star Party offers a unique opportunity for students, families, and space enthusiasts of all ages to enjoy an evening of stargazing guided by expert faculty and staff.
“This is a great opportunity to explore the cosmos right here in Austin,” says Dr. Michael Endl, ACC Astronomy faculty. “Whether you’re a student or just curious about the stars, our Star Party is a fun and educational experience for all ages.”
Powerful telescopes and binoculars will be set up in a designated viewing area, allowing guests to see the moon, Mars, Venus, and Jupiter, along with their moons. If the skies are clear, attendees may also glimpse deeper celestial objects like the Orion Nebula, star clusters, and the Andromeda Galaxy.
The evening starts with a short introduction to telescope use and tips for skywatching, followed by live viewing sessions and expert commentary throughout the night.
Weather note: The event may be canceled in inclement weather or cloudy conditions. Stay updated here.
