Looking for a new furry friend? Austin Community College District (ACC) has cats and dogs ready to find their forever homes through the Veterinary Technology Program at the Elgin Campus.
These animals have been cared for by ACC students as part of their hands-on training. Each pet is spayed/neutered, receives socialization, basic leash training, vaccinations, microchipping, and heartworm prevention medication.
The animals come from local shelters, and if not adopted by the end of the semester, they will return to foster homes or shelters. ACC encourages faculty, staff, students, and the community to consider adoption, fostering, or donating to partner organizations to support these pets.
Three steps to your new best friend:
- Visit ACC Elgin Campus: Schedule a meet-and-greet by contacting [email protected].
- Meet & Match: Spend time with the available pets and get to know their personalities.
- Apply & Bring Them Home: Submit your adoption application and pay a small adoption fee to help support their care.
