ACC Votes: Every Ballot Counts in the 2025 Texas Constitutional Amendment Election

Austin Community College District (ACC) continues its commitment to civic engagement through ACC Votes, the College’s nonpartisan initiative providing election information and resources to the ACC community. This fall, Texas voters will cast their ballots on 17 proposed changes to the state constitution, plus other ballot items based on their voting district.

Early voting remains open until Friday, October 31. Election day is Tuesday, November 4.

Three ACC campuses will serve as Election Day polling sites:

  • Hays Campus
  • Cypress Creek Campus
  • San Gabriel Campus

Historically, voter turnout for constitutional amendment elections is low — often fewer than one in 10 registered voters participate. In the last constitutional amendment election, more than half of voters were over 65, and more than 70% were homeowners. With such limited participation, each ballot carries extraordinary weight. In local and state elections like this one, a few votes can make the difference on issues that influence everything from tax rates to voting rights.

Make Your Plan to Vote

ACC encourages students, faculty, and staff to make informed choices and have their voices heard. Employees may take up to two hours of administrative leave to do so and must work with their supervisor ahead of time to schedule the time off needed.

You can learn more about the election through ACC Votes web page, which features:

  • An interactive map of early voting locations across Central Texas.
  • General information about the 17 proposed amendments to the Texas Constitution.
  • Sample ballots for local government and school district proposals and propositions
  • A list of numbers to call if you experience or observe any voting issues.

Polling locations will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 4.
