Construction Advances on Round Rock Campus Applied Technology Expansion

Austin Community College District (ACC) continues to make progress on the Applied Technology expansion at the Round Rock Campus, one of the projects funded through the College’s 2022 General Obligation Bond.

Work is underway on two new buildings. The first building, which will house the Advanced Manufacturing Program expansion, is now about 70% complete. Crews are finishing the exterior walls and roof, and most of the major heating, cooling, and electrical systems are already being installed inside. Once the windows are installed, the building will be considered “dried in,” meaning work can shift fully to the interior. Inside, electrical and mechanical equipment has been delivered, set on new housekeeping pads, and is being integrated into the building’s infrastructure systems.

The second building, which will be home to the Automotive Technology Program, is about 40% complete. The main roof structure is in place, and interior walls are starting to go up. Overhead mechanical and electrical work has begun inside the building’s mechanical and electrical rooms. Large roll-up doors have already been delivered and are ready for installation once the structure is further along.

When finished, the Applied Technology expansion will create modern workforce training spaces designed to meet the growing demand for high-skill careers across Central Texas.
