Austin Community College District (ACC) celebrated the achievements of the 2025–2026 ASCENDER cohort during the 11th Annual ASCENDER Celebración Ceremony on April 26, 2026 at the Eastview Campus.
The bilingual event brought together students, families, professors, advisors, and mentors to recognize 100 students who completed their first year of college through the ASCENDER academic program. As part of the celebration, students received a traditional stole in recognition of their accomplishments and academic journey.
The ceremony opened with remarks from Alejandra Polcik, Student Success Programs Manager, who spoke about the importance of culture, community, and belonging in student success. Diana Gorostieta Martinez, ASCENDER Coordinator, led the ceremony and recognized the faculty, advisors, and mentors who support students throughout the program.
Guests also heard from keynote speaker Dr. Guillermo Martinez III, Associate Vice Chancellor of Student Rights & Engagement, who shared words of encouragement and resilience with the cohort.
The ASCENDER Catch the Next program continues to support students as they build confidence, complete college milestones, and work toward their academic and career goals.
