Austin Community College District (ACC) enters the final stages of construction on the Round Rock Campus Applied Technology Expansion. Phase 1 is now more than 90% complete. The new Automotive Technology and Advanced Manufacturing facilities are on track to welcome students for the fall 2026 semester.
ACC will celebrate the completion of Phase 1 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in October.
Automotive Technology Building
Major building systems continue to come online, with the HVAC system activated last week and building automation programming underway.
Inside, crews are completing the final phases of construction, including:
- Interior painting
- Ceiling tile installation
- Flooring
- Millwork
- Restroom partitions
An owner walkthrough, known as a punch list inspection, is anticipated in late July or early August as the project moves toward completion.
Advanced Manufacturing Building
Final interior finishes have been installed on the Advanced Manufacturing Building. It is now being prepared for its owner’s punch list inspection, scheduled to occur in late July.
While the building nears completion, work has begun on Phase 2 improvements within the Heating, Air Conditioning & Refrigeration Technology (HART) suite.
Move In
ACC will begin moving furniture, computers, instructional equipment, and technology into both buildings during the final week of July. The move-in process is expected to continue for approximately three weeks, beginning with the Advanced Manufacturing Building before transitioning to the Automotive Technology facility.
Site Work, Parking Lots
Site work across the project is now almost complete. Asphalt paving, parking lot striping, and the majority of exterior improvements are finished. Remaining work includes final landscaping, brick pavers at accessible ramps, and sections of exterior fencing.
