Austin Community College will host the 9th annual Women’s Health, Motivation, and Empowerment Conference on Saturday, July 20, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Eastview Campus (3401 Webberville Rd., Building 8000, Room 8500).
The free event is for women and teen girls seeking to enhance their lives personally and professionally. Sessions cover health, inspiration, relationship building, and career development. Participants will hear from guest speaker Sheryl Cole, mayor pro term for the City of Austin. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
The event had a lasting impact on Rhonda Douglas, who attended past conferences as an ACC student. Douglas still carries around a flier she received at a workshop about reaching goals – and this year she’ll present at the conference.
“The Women’s Conference helped me deal with different challenges I was facing,” says Douglas, who recently earned her bachelor’s degree from St. Edward’s University. “I thought it would be appropriate to give back to others with my own session. I’m also looking forward to learning from others at the conference.”
