The International Programs Office is looking for a host family for the 2015-2016 academic year for a German student participant in the Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals.
The student is a 21-year-old male journalist who enjoys short films and is learning to play piano.
The host family must be willing to welcome the student into their home for the entire academic year and provide room and board. The host family is eligible for a monthly stipend to offset room and board costs.
“This is a unique opportunity and it is extremely rewarding,” says Maite Whiting, International Programs coordinator. “As host family, you’re exposed to an entirely new culture and language and you help the student learn more about our own culture and community here in Austin. These experiences create lifetime memories and forge a lifetime friendship.”
The Youth Exchange has been connecting German students with American host families for more than 28 years. ACC has participated in the program for 15 years.
For more information about serving as a host family contact Whiting at [email protected] or 512-223-7114. To learn more about the Youth Exchange program, visit austincc.edu/intstudy/exchange.
