ACC will host its annual From Humvee to ACC veterans appreciation and resource fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at Riverside Campus, courtyard (1020 Grove Blvd.).
“ACC offers this event to show our appreciation for veterans. It’s an opportunity for them to learn about benefits at the college, meet with staff, and learn about helpful resources,” says Dr. Louella Tate, chair of the Veterans Advisory Committee. “The college has a strong partnership with community referral agencies that offer services to our veterans and their families.”
The event is free and open to the public. It includes guest speakers, refreshments, entertainment, and activities for adults and children. Community veteran service organizations and the college’s Student Services representatives will be available to meet with veterans one-on-one. Groups include:
- Texas Veterans Commission
- Texas Workforce Commission
- Austin Vet Center
- ACC VetSuccess on Campus
- ACC Veteran Affairs
- ACC Student Accessibility Services
- VSA Texas: Art for Veterans
- Equine Rehabilitation Central Texas
The event is sponsored by ACC’s Veterans Advisory Committee, Continuing Education Division, and Veterans Affairs Office.
