Results from the 2010 ACC Transportation Survey are now available. Late last year, the college’s Office of Environmental Stewardship invited students and employees to complete a survey related to their transportation needs. Topics included mode of transportation to ACC, use of public transportation, and the college’s Green Pass and Green Car initiatives.
The findings include:
- 73 percent use a personal vehicle to commute to ACC. This is a drop from 79 percent in 2009.
- 16 percent use public transportation, up from 10 percent in 2009.
- Among those who use public transportation, more than half said they started because of Green Pass.
- More than 10 percent own a Green Car.

The great thing about statistics are that you can spin them anyway you want the numbers to go. Parking is awful and none of the issues I raised about the parking situation were ever addressed. The fact is that people who live outside of Austin can not use the green pass and that people who live outside of Austin do not have alternatives to driving personal vehicles.

We pay out of district tuition.
We pay for the parking meters everyday because there is no parking at RGC.
We paid 45.00 for parking passes.
I think that when we can’t park in the garage ACC should reimburse us for the meters.
We also have a green pass. Gee let me do the algebra on that, 45,000 students strong and 10 max spots for green.
Oh I notice the professors took over part of the student parking from last Fall at the NRG parking lot.
Gee, increase the students. Don’t worry they’ll continue to come because we have a monopoly on the education. We’ll just keep jacking up the student fees. I was doing my taxes and a year ago the fees were in one classification 39.00 dollars now they are 169.00. Yeah Baby!
Also the campus is filthy there is no hot water another vioaltion of the Health code. Some days it is on probably because they get a heads up that the inspector is coming. What a Sham!shameless.
What is a student to do. Bow our heads and pray. yarp…yelp do you hear us.
do you now we are paying your salaries
How about the poor handicapp people no where to park. oh yeah the ones in charge have legs and eyes. what a sin.
Don’t waste my tuiton money on your stupid surveys, buy better toilet paper and deodorize the bathrooms.
Oh yeah thanks for the sewage that flood room 4 in the basement of RGC. What is the encore to this…….

Capital Metro offers park and ride locations. Conceivably someone could drive into town, park, and then ride the proper bus or buses over to ACC.
