ACC hosts spring job fair and career exploration event

Austin Community College (ACC) invites ACC alumni, students, and other job seekers to a job fair and career exploration event Friday, April 6, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Highland Campus ACCelerator (6101 Highland Campus Drive).

“With over 90 programs and 10 areas of study, ACC is committed to meeting the educational and career needs of our students, while simultaneously meeting the demands of our growing Central Texas workforce,” says Dr. Virginia Fraire, ACC vice president of Student Services. “This event gives our students the opportunity to earn as they learn, keeping them on a path to success.”

The City of Austin, Hays County Sheriff’s Office, IBM, Opcity, and Texas Parks and Wildlife along with more than 100 additional employers will be on site representing more than 2,000 job and internship opportunities. A complete list of participating employers is available online at austincc.edu/jobfair. Participants are encouraged to bring copies of their résumé or portfolio and dress professionally for an interview.

Representatives from ACC’s 10 Areas of Study also will be available to answer questions and provide guidance on making informed educational choices for attendees who want to learn more about career pathways at ACC.

Leading up to the event, ACC is hosting a series of workshops and Job Fair Preparation Service Stations at each campus where students can receive one-on-one help with their résumé, learn how to network with employers, and take home a preparation guide for job fair success. Workshops are available throughout the semester and service stations will be open Monday, April 2 through Thursday, April 5.
