The ACC <\/a>Arts and Humanities Division<\/a>‘s spring schedule showcases live drama and dance performances, art exhibitions, lectures, and other events sure to stimulate your imagination.<\/p>\n The Drama Department visits \u00c2 historic Harlem this spring with “Beauty is the Best Priest,” an ensemble of short plays representing the Harlem Renaissance, including prize-winning works by African-American women.<\/p>\n “This production runs Feb. 22-March 3, bridging two important months, Black History Month and Women’s History Month,” says Drama Department Chair Marcus McQuirter. “These plays will be directed in a variety of styles through contemporary eyes, with a focus on bringing people together through theater.”<\/p>\n Spring 2013 also includes the fifth annual Carnival ah!<\/a> – the Arts and Humanities Division’s festival held on the grounds of the Rio Grande Campus April 3-4.<\/p>\n “We’re continuing the theme ‘How did you get here?’,” says carnival coordinator Polly Monear. “We encourage people to express the concept of identity through art, performance, and philosophical exploration.”<\/p>\n A Carnival ah! favorite, International Night will be “bigger, better, and more fabulous than ever,” adds Monear. International Night will feature a variety of foods from other countries and will spotlight drum styles from around the world during a new event called “Feel the Beat.”<\/p>\n There’s still time to submit a proposal for Carnival ah!
