\"\"<\/a>Celebrate the opening of the new Highland Campus at a dedication ceremony Wednesday, August 27 from 10 to 11:30 a.m.<\/p>\n

Program speakers include Dr. Sean Roden, a graduate of ACC’s Emergency Medical Services Professions Program<\/a>. He served as a NASA flight surgeon and a physician for the U.S. Antarctic Program at the Admunsen – Scott South Pole Station. Read Dr. Roden’s biography<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Following the ceremony, participants can tour the campus’s high-tech labs and classrooms and enjoy refreshments.<\/p>\n

Faculty\/staff move-in planned for mid-August<\/strong><\/p>\n

Faculty and staff are scheduled to begin moving into the campus mid-August. Highland Campus Manager Linda Morrison will provide detailed moving instructions to impacted faculty and staff.\u00c2 She will be at the campus beginning August 5.<\/p>\n

The campus will open to students on August 13.<\/p>\n

Something exciting is starting here<\/strong><\/p>\n

Classes begin at ACC’s 11th<\/sup> campus Monday, August 25. As of late July, duplicated enrollment for the location was almost 2,400 students.<\/p>\n

The opening of the 200,000-square-foot campus is the first phase of a larger project to redevelop the mall and surrounding area into a regional center of educational excellence and mixed-use development. Also, ACC’s Board of Trustees in July authorized negotiations for an agreement for Rackspace<\/a> to lease the former Dillard’s women’s store location. The partnership is expected to bring paid internships for ACC students, enhancement of tech training, and other education benefits.<\/p>\n
