She was named one of the five best big-city mayors in America by Time magazine and received the Profile in Courage Award in 2005. She also was named one of the Women to Watch by Newsweek in 2007 and was appointed to the Department of Homeland Security special task force in 2009. Franklin is currently a Barbara Jordan visiting professor of ethics and political values at the University of Texas at Austin LBJ School of Public Affairs.<\/p>\n<p>During the free event, students will gather in small groups to debate a case study and learn about and gain an understanding of ethics.<\/p>\n<p>The event is sponsored by ACC\u2019s CPPPS, the Division of Social and Behavioral Sciences, the Center for Student Political Studies Group, ACC Student Government Association, and Jason\u2019s Deli.<\/p>\n<p>The event is open to all students. Students should check with their instructor for extra credit eligibility. Refreshments will be provided.
