When we show them opportunities for personal growth, it can be empowering,\u201d says Loretta Edelen, ACC conference organizer. \u201cIt\u2019s about positive reinforcement. This is how we ignite that spark.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The free event for women and teen girls draws in an annual crowd of 200-250 guests. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"  wp-image-34937 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/81\/2015\/07\/carroll.jpg\" alt=\"carroll\" width=\"244\" height=\"255\" srcset=\"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/81\/2015\/07\/carroll.jpg 200w, https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/81\/2015\/07\/carroll-144x150.jpg 144w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 244px) 100vw, 244px\" \/>Sessions cover health, inspiration, relationship building, and career development.<\/p>\n<p>Attendees also will participate in a panel lunch discussion titled: &#8220;Connecting the Dots with Health, Motivation and Empowerment\u201d.\u00a0Minister Cardette Carroll will serve as special guest speaker.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis conference serves as an annual reminder that I need to stay equipped and keep up-to-date on understanding my health as I get older, how to stay mentally and emotionally healthy, and how to accomplish dreams that have been stalled for years by fear,\u201d says Rhonda Douglas, former ACC student and conference attendee. \u201cIt\u2019s up to each of us as women to share our experiences, our struggles, and our triumphs.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Workshops include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Emotional intelligence<\/li>\n<li>Family development<\/li>\n<li>Healthy body<\/li>\n<li>Mental health<\/li>\n<li>Career management<\/li>\n<li>Health and wellness<\/li>\n<li>Job readiness<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Breakfast and lunch are provided.<\/p>\n<p>To register visit <a href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/women\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">austincc.edu\/women<\/a>.
