{"id":35987,"date":"2015-08-31T13:28:37","date_gmt":"2015-08-31T13:28:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=35987"},"modified":"2015-08-31T20:29:04","modified_gmt":"2015-08-31T20:29:04","slug":"acc-partners-with-adobe-to-provide-students-free-software-access","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/2015\/08\/31\/acc-partners-with-adobe-to-provide-students-free-software-access\/","title":{"rendered":"ACC partners with Adobe to provide students free software access"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Austin Community College District\u2019s (ACC) Business, Government and Technical Communications Department is partnering with Adobe Systems, Inc., to provide students free access to the industry-leading toolkit Adobe Technical Communication Suite, which includes FrameMaker, Camtasia, and RoboHelp, \u00a0as they prepare for the employment in the technical communication industry.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a very important tool for our students, because they\u2019ll get hands-on experience using the exact software they\u2019ll likely encounter in their careers as technical writers, online help authors, and desktop publishers,\u201d says David McMurrey, ACC chair of the Business, Government and Technical Communications Department. \u201cThis is the leading technology in our field, so this is the best kind of preparation students can have for the future.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The software donation will allow students and professors to author, enrich, review, manage, and publish interactive technical documents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAustin Community College is doing a commendable job of preparing the next generation of technical communicators,\u201d says Saibal Bhattacharjee, senior product marketing manager for Adobe\u2019s Technical Communication line of products. \u201cWe\u2019re excited to partner with ACC and offer their students access to this cutting-edge Adobe technology. Hopefully, this will be a competitive advantage for the ACC graduates as they enter their professional careers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>ACC\u2019s Business and Technical Communications Department offers degrees and certificates in business and government communications, social media communications, and technical communications.
