{"id":36845,"date":"2015-10-28T14:05:31","date_gmt":"2015-10-28T14:05:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=36845"},"modified":"2015-11-09T17:28:39","modified_gmt":"2015-11-09T17:28:39","slug":"acc-awarded-1-7m-grant-to-train-pipe-fabrication-workforce","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/2015\/10\/28\/acc-awarded-1-7m-grant-to-train-pipe-fabrication-workforce\/","title":{"rendered":"ACC awarded $1.7M grant to train pipe fabrication workforce"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Austin Community College District (ACC) will provide specialized job training for EPIC Piping Inc. through a $1.7 million Skills Development Fund grant awarded by the Texas Workforce Commission (TWC). \u00a0The training will help hundreds of manufacturing workers upgrade their skills for new, in-demand jobs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSkills grants deliver customized training solutions that help Texas employers and workers succeed in the marketplace,\u201d says TWC Chairman Andres Alcantar. \u201cThis investment builds not only employee skills, but the capacity of Austin Community College to build partnerships that meet the needs of employers in the region.
