My favorite feature has got be the living roof. It is not only beautiful, but I love the idea of this structure being able to capture and use rain water.\u201d<\/p>\n The house is more than eye-catching with its rooftop garden, mosaic tile flooring, and sheet metal walls. It\u2019s award-winning. The students won best-in-show.<\/p>\n “Earth Dog” wins Best-in-Show<\/p>\n<\/div>\n \u201cIt\u2019s such an honor,\u201d says T\u2019Andra Hatch, ACC student and project construction manager. \u201cWhat makes this project special is that it was designed and built by the students. Everyone had a part in almost every aspect of the finished design. All of our hard work paid off.\u00a0\u201d<\/p>\n The doghouses presented at BARKITECTURE are bid on by the public with proceeds benefiting area dog rescue groups. ACC\u2019s dog house raised more than $200, benefiting Hounds for Heroes PTSD Service Dogs.<\/p>\n \u201cThis was the fourth year our students participated in BARKITECTURE,\u201d says Doug Smith, chair of the ACC Architectural and Engineering Computer Aided Design Department. \u201cIt\u2019s a wonderful opportunity to test their skills, creativity, and team work.
