ACC Government Professor Roy Casagranda will discuss the origins of the Syrian disaster and its global effects.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe Syrian civil war has created the worst mass displacement crisis since WWII,\u201d says Casagranda. \u201cWe will look at the origins and causes of this crisis and then examine how it devolved into such a catastrophe.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>A second event is planned for late April.<\/p>\n<p>The events, hosted by ACC\u2019s International Program Department, are free and open to the public.<\/p>\n<p>For more information, contact William Hayden, director of international programs, at 512-223-7114 or <a href=\"mailto:william.hayden@austincc.edu\">william.hayden@austincc.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Austin Community College professors will discuss the worldwide impact of recent international affairs in a new global issues speaker series this spring.
