Austin Community College faculty and staff are invited to join their colleagues in setting a course for the future at General Assembly Friday, August 26<\/strong>, at the downtown Austin JW Marriott hotel (110 E. Second St.).<\/p>\n The day begins at 8 a.m. with breakfast and a chance to connect with various college departments and programs at information tables.<\/p>\n Morning events include the state of the college address by President\/CEO Dr. Richard Rhodes, the announcement of the Riverbats Bravo Employee of the Year recipient, and a raffle. See a list of raffle prizes<\/a>.<\/p>\n Featured keynote speaker Garrett Groves<\/a>, director of the Economic Opportunity Program at the Center for Public Policy Priorities,<\/a> will discuss “Building Talent Pipelines:\u00a0Aligning Education, Workforce and Economic Development.”<\/p>\n Connect and share photos at #ACCnavfuture<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Before taking part in afternoon workshops at Highland Campus and Highland Business Center, faculty and staff can purchase lunch from food trucks<\/a> in the Highland Campus west parking lot.<\/p>\n Employees can choose from more than 40 workshops<\/a> focusing on professional and technical skill development. Afternoon sessions are 1:30 \u2013 3 p.m. and 3:15 \u2013 4:45 p.m., with mini sessions in-between. A few options:<\/p>\n Parking is available at the Marriott; however space is limited. Please consider taking one of the free shuttles<\/a>, carpooling, or riding the MetroRail<\/a> or MetroBus<\/a>.<\/p>\n Shuttles will depart from Highland Campus beginning at 7:15 a.m. and run every 15 minutes until 9 a.m. Return trips will begin at noon and run every 15 minutes. Shuttle riders will receive an extra raffle ticket.<\/p>\n Those unable to attend can view a live webcast of the morning presentations<\/a>.
