Applications are due Friday, September\u00a02.<\/p>\n<p>The free program, offered by ACC\u2019s Adult Education Division, helps high school graduates and GED earners get college-ready. Students receive career counseling and one-on-one guidance completing college admissions and financial aid applications.<\/p>\n<p>The program offers three tracks:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Traditional<\/li>\n<li>Math-focused<\/li>\n<li>English-focused<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Students in the traditional track attend workshops and classes covering college success, reading, writing, and math. Students in the math or English track get focused attention on those areas.<\/p>\n<p>All participants also learn proven study strategies for college entrance exams and tests.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a difference between being eligible for college and being ready for college,\u201d says Charlene Gill, ACC College Prep coordinator. \u201cWith hands-on support and individualized coaching, College Prep gives students the confidence they need to be successful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The College Prep program pays for college readiness assessment fees and class textbooks.<\/p>\n<p>The next 12-week College Prep course begins in mid-September with day and evening classes available. To be eligible, you must be a legal U.S. resident and 17 years or older with a GED or high school diploma. Current and former developmental education students are encouraged to apply.
