IRS Reminds Providers to Receive W-2 Forms Before Submitting An Electronic Return<\/strong><\/p>\n

The IRS has issued a reminder that an \u00e2\u20ac\u0153Authorized IRS e-file Provider\u00e2\u20ac\u009d is prohibited from submitting an electronic return to the IRS prior to the receipt of all Forms W-2 (Wage and Tax Statement<\/em>), W-2G (Certain Gambling Winnings<\/em>), and 1099-R (Distributions From Pensions, Annuities, Retirement or Profit-Sharing Plans, IRAs, Insurance Contract, Etc.<\/em>) from the taxpayer.<\/p>\n

If the taxpayer is unable to secure and provide a correct Form W-2, W-2G, or 1099-R, the return may be electronically filed after Form 4852 (Substitute for Form W-2) is properly completed. This is the only time information from pay stubs or leave and earning statements (LES) is allowed.<\/p>\n

2009 W-2 update<\/strong><\/p>\n

It is time once again for W-2\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s. The 2009 W-2 Forms will be mailed to employees\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 home addresses on or before January 30th. Employees will be able to review their W-2 Forms online as well.<\/p>\n
