(See schedule below.)<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCollege expenses can be overwhelming. A lot of people don\u2019t realize how easy it is to get help. Most people qualify for financial aid,\u201d says Terry Bazan, ACC student assistance executive director. \u201cTo be eligible, students first need to fill out the FAFSA.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The FAFSA is an online form that allows the government to determine a student\u2019s eligibility for financial aid through federal grants, work study funds, and loans. Millions of families fill it out every year.<\/p>\n<p>Unlike previous years, the FAFSA is based on previously reported income and tax information, so applicants don\u2019t have to wait until they know their income for the current year, or make estimates that later may need to be adjusted. For the 2017-18 form, applicants will submit 2015 income and tax information. An online\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/tuition-and-financial-aid\/obtain-financial-aid\/financial-aid-steps\/irs-data-retrieval-tool\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">IRS Data Retrieval Tool<\/a>\u00a0is available to help students compile their information.<\/p>\n<p>Additional FAFSA support is available community-wide through Tuesday, April 18. Students may visit Foundation Communities\u2019 community financial centers located in North and South Austin.
