ACC\u2019s Campus Carry Implementation Task Force<\/a> is hosting the forums to inform the college community about the law and gather feedback that will guide the committee\u2019s policy recommendations.<\/p>\n As a public community college, ACC is required to implement campus carry legislation (Texas Senate Bill 11) beginning August 1. The law allows colleges some discretion to set \u201creasonable rules, regulations, and other provisions,\u201d including creating \u201cexclusion zones\u201d that prohibit guns in certain campus areas.<\/p>\n The Campus Carry Implementation Task Force comprises students, faculty, staff, and representatives from each campus who are working with various college stakeholder groups and legal experts to develop policies that will be presented to ACC\u2019s president and Board of Trustees for approval.<\/p>\n Forum dates, locations, and times are below. Individuals wanting to speak must sign up at the door, and comments will be limited to two minutes. Registration begins 30 minutes before the forum starts.
