The weeklong institute is <strong>June 5-9<\/strong> at the Highland Business Center.<\/p>\n<p>Hosted by the <a href=\"http:\/\/austincc.edu\/fctl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Faculty Center for Teaching &amp; Learning<\/a> (FCTL) and led by <a href=\"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/fctl\/faculty-fellows-16-17\/\">2016-17 Project ACC Faculty Fellows<\/a>, the event gives faculty a chance to come together for interactive plenary and breakout sessions. The purpose is to give instructors new tools to explore and implement engaged and active teaching strategies in their classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>Sessions are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily; breakfast and lunch are provided. Faculty who complete the week receive a $200 stipend. Those who pilot new strategies in their fall courses have an opportunity to earn an additional $200 stipend.<\/p>\n<p>Visit the<a href=\"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/fctl\/project-acc-summer-institute-on-active-and-engaged-teaching\/\"> Summer Institute<\/a> website to learn details and apply. Participation is limited to 50 faculty.
