{"id":45145,"date":"2018-01-11T14:08:05","date_gmt":"2018-01-11T14:08:05","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=45145"},"modified":"2018-02-21T15:15:29","modified_gmt":"2018-02-21T15:15:29","slug":"registration-underway-for-back-to-work-50-workshops","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/2018\/01\/11\/registration-underway-for-back-to-work-50-workshops\/","title":{"rendered":"Registration underway for BACK TO WORK 50+ workshops"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Austin Community College (ACC) is holding free information sessions and workshops to help women 50 and older find new careers, gain job search and computer skills, and build financial security.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The first spring workshop for the program, called \u201cBACK TO WORK 50+ at Austin Community College: Women\u2019s Economic Stability Initiative,\u201d is Thursday, January 18, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at Highland Campus, Room 1101 (6101 Highland Campus Dr.).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">BACK TO WORK 50+ at ACC includes a set of integrated core services for qualified participants:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Job skills training<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Employer access <\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Community building<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Individual and group coaching<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Computer skills coaching<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Financial capability building<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Scholarships are available for additional occupational training classes at ACC.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Additional information sessions and workshops will be held on the following dates:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tuesday, February 27<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Monday, April 30<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tuesday, May 29<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tuesday, July 10<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Tuesday, August 21<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Monday, October 1<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ACC is a proud sub-grantee of AARP Foundation, through a \u00a0grant provided by the Corporation for National and Community Service.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To register for a session, call 855-850-2525.
