{"id":45194,"date":"2018-02-02T15:38:52","date_gmt":"2018-02-02T15:38:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=45194"},"modified":"2018-02-21T15:15:19","modified_gmt":"2018-02-21T15:15:19","slug":"apply-now-for-fall-scholarships-deadline-is-april-1-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/2018\/02\/02\/apply-now-for-fall-scholarships-deadline-is-april-1-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Apply now for fall scholarships; deadline is April 1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Now is the time to apply for scholarships for the 2018-19 school year.<\/p>\n<p>The Austin Community College Foundation offers hundreds of scholarships for a variety of majors and circumstances (see below).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Apply early<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The deadline for priority consideration is\u00a0<strong>April 1<sup>st<\/sup>. \u00a0<\/strong><em>Don\u2019t delay \u2014<\/em>\u00a0<em>applying early is recommended and you can start your application today.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>To be considered, complete the online\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/austincc.academicworks.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">General Scholarship Application<\/a>, including an essay. Students may upload letters of recommendation or request recommendation letters electronically. Current ACC students also must upload their ACC transcript.<\/p>\n<p>Students only need to submit one application to be considered for all scholarships. Those who have applied previously should re-submit the form.<\/p>\n<p><em>For details about applying for scholarships, including application tips and resources, visit the\u00a0<\/em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/foundation\/scholarships\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><em>ACC Foundation Scholarships<\/em><\/a> <em>webpage.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are over 500 scholarships available for a wide cross section of ACC students,\u201d says Ann Schubert, coordinator of ACC Foundation operations. \u201cAny student in good scholastic standing or starting at ACC should submit a scholarship application.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Fall scholarship recipients are notified during the summer. Spring semester-only scholarship recipients are notified in November.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to general scholarships, students may find ones that are specific to their major, an activity, or a personal circumstance.
