Austin Community College will present a discussion on the history and politics of\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Jerusalem and its role in the peace process as part of the college\u2019s Spring 2018 Global Issues Speaker Series.<\/span><\/p>\n

Hosted by ACC\u2019s International Programs, the presentation is Wednesday, March 28, from 5 to 7 p.m. at Eastview Campus, Room 8500 (3101 Webberville Rd.).<\/span><\/p>\n

ACC Government professor Dr. David Albert will explore the last century of debate over the fate of Jerusalem and its connection to the peace process and the U.S.-Israel “Special Relationship.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cJerusalem has been anything but peaceful in recent decades. The city has been contested and its destiny has been central to the resolution of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process since it is claimed by both sides as its capitol,\u201d says Dr. Albert. \u201cWe will take a look at the developments \u00a0through the lens of the Trump administration’s decision to move the U.S. Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The event is free and open to the public.<\/span><\/p>\n
