Austin Community College (ACC) invites students, faculty, and staff to share their experiences with race and racism in a series of interviews designed to guide the development of the college\u2019s Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation (TRHT) Campus Center. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Office of Equity and Inclusion will visit campuses throughout the district to interview those interested in sharing their story. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to create a safe space where people feel comfortable opening up and being authentic,\u201d says Chris Cervini, associate vice president of community and public affairs. \u201cOur goal is to get a better understanding of what our community needs.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The interviews, which may be recorded, will guide strategies for building an equitable and inclusive community.<\/span><\/p>\n

ACC is one of 10 colleges nationwide selected to become a TRHT Campus Center. The centers are part of a multi-year initiative by the Association of American Colleges and Universities to educate, prepare, and inspire the next generation of leaders to break down racial hierarchies.<\/span><\/p>\n
