The college\u2019s Board of Trustees approved the 2018-19 tuition and fee rates at its May meeting.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cACC is committed to ensuring students have not only an accessible path to college\u00a0but an\u00a0affordable\u00a0path forward,\u201d says Gigi Edwards Bryant, ACC Board of Trustees vice chair. \u201cPaying for college is a struggle for many. I\u2019m proud that we\u2019re taking a step in the right direction to increase accessibility.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The out-of-district fees and out-of-state tuition will drop $2 per credit hour for 2018-19.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe recognized that the tuition and fee rates for students outside our taxing district were becoming a barrier for many,\u201d says Neil Vickers, ACC executive vice president of finance and administration. \u201cWith this change, we can begin to alleviate some of that pressure.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The new rates will retain a sizeable difference between in-district and out of district. Students who live within the district support the college through tax dollars and receive lower rates. According to Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, 2018-19 in-district students at ACC save approximately 80 percent in tuition and fees on a two-year degree compared with other area institutions.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Cost for Two Years of College\u00a0(60 Credits)<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>ACC: $5,100<\/li>\n<li>Texas A&amp;M: $20,632<\/li>\n<li>University of Texas: $20,184<\/li>\n<li>Texas State University: $21,840<\/li>\n<li>Independent University: $60,942<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The ACC District includes the City of Austin as well as the Austin, Leander, Manor, Del Valle, Round Rock, Elgin, and Hays school districts.<\/p>\n<p>Summer 2018 registration is underway. Fall registration is underway for current and former students and opens on May 29 for new students.
