{"id":45568,"date":"2018-06-11T21:58:22","date_gmt":"2018-06-11T21:58:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=45568"},"modified":"2018-06-13T16:54:38","modified_gmt":"2018-06-13T16:54:38","slug":"acc-hosts-emergency-preparedness-week-june-11-15","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/2018\/06\/11\/acc-hosts-emergency-preparedness-week-june-11-15\/","title":{"rendered":"ACC hosts Emergency Preparedness Week June 11-15"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Austin Community College will practice emergency response procedures and test its emergency notification system as part of Emergency Preparedness Week June 11- 15.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The college designates the third week of each semester as <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/emergency-information\/emergency-preparedness-week\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Emergency Preparedness Week<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to educate students, faculty, and staff on the best actions to take if an emergency or disaster occurs on campus. The college will conduct building evacuation drills at select campuses and test the ACC Emergency Alert System districtwide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to familiarize themselves with emergency procedures, including identifying building exits, areas of rescue assistance, and campus rally points where those evacuating should gather until an all clear is given.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">ACC will test its <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/emergency-information\/acc-emergency-alert\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Emergency Alert System<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> on <\/span><b>Wednesday, June 13<\/b><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">. During the test, messages and text alerts will be sent to ACCmail accounts and registered mobile devices.
