Your individual taxes may increase at a greater or lesser<br \/>\nrate, or even decrease, depending on the change in the taxable<br \/>\nvalue of your property in relation to the change in taxable value<br \/>\nof all other property and the tax rate that is adopted.<\/p>\n<p>The first public hearing will be held on August 23, 2018 at<br \/>\n12:00 p.m. at 5930 Middle Fiskville Road, Austin, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>The second public hearing will be held on August 27, 2018 at<br \/>\n12:00 p.m. at 5930 Middle Fiskville Road, Austin, Texas.<\/p>\n<p>The members of the governing body voted on the proposal to<br \/>\nconsider the tax increase as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>FOR:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Dr. Barbara Mink,<\/li>\n<li>Gigi Edwards Bryant,<\/li>\n<li>Mark Williams,<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Betty Hwang,<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Nora Hoyos Comstock<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>AGAINST:<\/strong> None<br \/>\n<strong>PRESENT AND\u00a0<\/strong><strong>NOT VOTING:<\/strong> None<br \/>\n<strong>ABSENT:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sean Hassan,<\/li>\n<li>Dr. Nan McRaven,<\/li>\n<li>Julie Ann Nitsch,<\/li>\n<li>Nicole Eversmann<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The average taxable value of a residence homestead in the<br \/>\nAustin Community College District last year was $316,276.<br \/>\nBased on last year\u2019s tax rate of $0.1008 per $100 of taxable<br \/>\nvalue, the amount of taxes imposed last year on the average<br \/>\nhome was $318.81.<\/p>\n<p>The average taxable value of a residence homestead in the<br \/>\nAustin Community College District this year is $336,361. If<br \/>\nthe governing body adopts the effective tax rate for this year<br \/>\nof $0.0937 per $100 of taxable value, the amount of taxes<br \/>\nimposed this year on the average home would be $315.17.<\/p>\n<p>If the governing body adopts the proposed tax rate of $0.1048<br \/>\nper $100 of taxable value, the amount of taxes imposed this<br \/>\nyear on the average home would be $352.51.<\/p>\n<p>Members of the public are encouraged to attend the hearings<br \/>\nand express their views.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear ACC Taxpayers, The District is grateful to the community for its continued support and remains committed to delivering an exceptional return on investment.
