There are more than 700 scholarships available, and it only takes one application to apply.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cStudents face many roadblocks pursuing their dreams of higher education. Without financial assistance, many of our students would have to postpone or stop their goals altogether. Receiving a scholarship removes that financial burden and keeps students on track,\u201d says ACC Chancellor Dr. Richard Rhodes. \u201cACC is committed to making sure college is something everyone can afford. I am so grateful for the generous support of our donors. Through their donations, we are able to provide millions of dollars in scholarships to our students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each year, ACC awards more than $2.1 million in scholarships, with the average award being $1,000-2,000.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The General Scholarship Application is one-time application. Once a student submits, they\u2019re automatically considered for all college scholarship opportunities. Personalized options are based on a student\u2019s financial need for their academic success, heritage, and identity. It includes a short series of questions and one personal statement.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cReceiving a scholarship has made me feel a lot more open to possibilities in my life. It is not something that I thought would ever happen to me. I think receiving that scholarship was one of the first things that shifted my mindset about what I could actually receive and what opportunities I could take advantage of that could be a part of my life,\u201d says Diana Carpenter, ACC scholarship recipient. \u201cIt completely changed how I approached school, so there is no reason not to go for every opportunity presented to you.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What you need to know:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>All ACC students are eligible to apply<\/li>\n<li>1 in 4 applicants receives money for college<\/li>\n<li>Scholarships are the closest thing to free money and don\u2019t have to be repaid<\/li>\n<li>Relieving financial stress with scholarships increases graduation expectation<\/li>\n<li>Scholarship money is your money to spend where you need it to reach your goals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The priority deadline to apply for ACC scholarships is May 1.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For more information and for tips and advice on applying, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/news\/2023\/03\/austincc.edu\/scholarships\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">austincc.edu\/scholarships<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Austin Community College District (ACC) students can apply now for a scholarship for fall classes.
