{"id":46079,"date":"2023-04-27T18:41:13","date_gmt":"2023-04-27T18:41:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=46079"},"modified":"2023-05-02T19:18:13","modified_gmt":"2023-05-02T19:18:13","slug":"acc-hosts-boots-bats-gala-to-raise-money-for-student-scholarships","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/2023\/04\/27\/acc-hosts-boots-bats-gala-to-raise-money-for-student-scholarships\/","title":{"rendered":"ACC hosts Boots &amp; Bats Gala to raise money for student scholarships"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Austin Community College District (ACC) is raising money to support student scholarships.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The college\u2019s annual scholarship gala \u2014&nbsp; Boots &amp; Bats \u2014 returns Saturday, April 29.&nbsp; Presented in partnership with the Art Has Heart Foundation, all proceeds benefit student scholarships.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Date: <\/strong>Saturday, April 29<br \/><strong>Time: <\/strong>6 to 9:30 p.m.<br \/><strong>Location: <\/strong>ACC Highland Campus, ACCTV &amp; Austin PBS Studios<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWithout financial support, many of our students wouldn\u2019t be able to stay enrolled and reach their goals. Knowing there is someone out there who believes in you and will support your education means the world to our students,\u201d says ACC Chancellor Dr. Richard Rhodes. \u201cI am so grateful for the support from our donors to remove that financial burden from our students. College is something everyone should be able to afford, and ACC remains committed to that mission.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The annual gala will be held at the new ACCTV and Austin PBS Studios at ACC Highland. The event features cocktails and hors d\u2019oeuvres by ACC students and employees, live and silent art and experience auctions, live student performances, and live art performances.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The first two Boots &amp; Bats galas raised more than $460,000 for student scholarships.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cReceiving a scholarship made a big difference in my life. I was working two part-time jobs, which limited my time to spend on school.
