Austin Community College District joins the Amplify Austin movement for the seventh consecutive year starting at 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 6, and continuing until 6 p.m. Thursday, March 7. <\/p>\n

This year\u2019s goal is to raise $50,000 for the college\u2019s Student Emergency Fund, which is available to all enrolled students who face unexpected expenses that can derail their education. <\/p>\n

“More and more students come to ACC with limited resources. Many of our students are just a flat tire away from having no transportation to and from school or work,\u201d says Steve Christopher, ACC associate vice chancellor for Student Accessibility & Social Support Resources (SASSR). \u201cIn these cases, research shows that just a small and timely infusion of financial support through the Student Emergency Fund can make the difference between the student staying on track and completing the semester or withdrawing from ACC.\u201d<\/p>\n

You can get started today! Here are a couple of ways ACC faculty, staff, administrators, and affiliated leaders (e.g., Board of Trustee members and leadership in affiliated nonprofits and centers) can support ACC\u2019s Amplify Austin campaign now:<\/p>\n

ACC Leadership Match<\/strong><\/p>\n

All employees are eligible to create the combined ACC Leadership Match now. This motivates others to give by promising to match their contribution dollar-for-dollar up to a certain amount. For example, someone who gives $100 on Amplify Austin Day essentially doubles their contribution to $200 with the ACC Leadership Match. Join the ACC Leadership Match<\/a> in two easy steps: <\/p>\n

  1. Pick an amount from the form.<\/li>\n
  2. Make a contribution to the ACC Foundation Student Advocacy Center SEF <\/a>(under choose your designation)<\/em>. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Note: There is the option to contribute via ACC\u2019s Amplify page<\/a> and write in Leadership Match as well.<\/p>\n

    Fundraising Pages<\/strong><\/p>\n

    1. Click on the ACC Amplify Austin<\/a> page, select the Fundraise<\/em> button and follow the instructions (this should only take a few minutes). <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
