It was a full house, with more than 300 people, at the 9th Annual Ascender Celebraci\u00f3n. The ceremony was held May 2 at ACC Highland Campus in the Austin PBS Black Box studio. 70 Ascender Catch the Next students were recognized for completing their program.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/acc_studentaffairs\/albums\/72177720316828762\/\" title=\"ASCENDER Celebraci\u00f3n 2024 by sacommunication, on Flickr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img src='https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/65535\/53710618552_0112dffe4f.jpg' width='800' height='600' alt='240502_Celebracion_Ascender_0001.jpg'><\/a><script async src='https:\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js' charset='utf-8'><\/script>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>The evening started with Luis Pati\u00f1o, CEO of PBS, introducing a performance by students from Leander Elementary School showcasing Ballet Folkl\u00f3rico. Graduates also enjoyed a musical performance by Xunaxhii, a graduating senior from Leander High School. Celia Israel, former Texas Representative, delivered the keynote address.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>ACC Board of Trustee Secretary Dr. Manny Gonzalez and Manager of ASCENDER Alejandra Polcik presented all the students with their graduation stoles.
