Kodo was named to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lenouveaureporter.com\/qui-est-sam-kodo-le-togolais-parmi-les-50-leaders-les-plus-influents-de-luemoa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">2020 Top 50 Influential People<\/a> in West Africa, ranked in Forbes top 30 under 30 in Africa, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jetweb.co.za\/5-african-innovators-changing-world\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">top 5 Africans changing the world<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Under Kodo\u2019s leadership, Zpryme is creating an advanced sensing drone to reduce the impact of a severe weather event.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>This advanced commercial sensing drone offers enhanced camera technology is expected to help reduce and better predict the impacts of severe weather events. The drone&#8217;s key parts and design will be custom-designed, fabricated primarily with 3D printing, assembled, and tested in ACC\u2019s lab.<\/p>\n<p>Located on the ACC Highland Campus (6101 Highland Campus Drive), the IMPACT Lab is an advanced manufacturing business incubator and training lab. The 5,000 square-foot facility is Austin\u2019s first innovation center focused on physical product development and manufacturing.<\/p>\n<p>For students, ACC\u2019s IMPACT Lab offers real-world learning experiences for students enrolled in ACC&#8217;s advanced manufacturing programs and is home to the college&#8217;s Advanced Manufacturing Academy \u2014 a high school dual credit program.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For businesses, the lab provides specialized manufacturing facilities for start-up companies to develop prototypes and products.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>LAB RESOURCES<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Computer Workstations with CAD, CAM, and simulation software<\/li>\n<li>Workbench space &amp; tools for prototype assembly &amp; testing<\/li>\n<li>Variety of 3D printers in plastic and polymer<\/li>\n<li>Laser cutting, etching, and engraving systems<\/li>\n<li>Multi-axis CNC mills &amp; lathes for machining<\/li>\n<li>Electronics workstations for soldering &amp; testing<\/li>\n<li>Referrals for outsourced PCB, metal printing, and other specialty services<\/li>\n<li>Full woodworking shop with 3-axis CNC router<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>IMPACT lab is funded by a grant from the National Economic Development Administration\u2019s Regional Innovation Strategies as well as local matching dollars from ATI, Autodesk, City of Austin, and Amazon Web Services.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>For more information, visit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.austincc.edu\/impactlab\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">austincc.edu\/impactlab<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Austin Community College District (ACC) welcomes the first company to its manufacturing incubator, the ACC IMPACT Lab.&nbsp; Zpryme LLC\u00a0is a research, media, and events agency focused on energy.
