Face masks and self-health screening required<\/h3>\n

Austin Community College District\u2019s (ACC) Board of  Trustees met Friday, August 13, 2021, and unanimously approved new, temporary measures for the fall 2021 semester. <\/p>\n

Effective August 20, 2021, anyone who is 2 years of age or older will be required to wear a face mask in all ACC buildings. <\/p>\n

\u201cAs the Board of Trustees of the college, we have the responsibility and the authority to protect the health and safety of our faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Medical data indicates a massive increase in cases has occurred over the past few weeks,\u201d says Dr. Nan McRaven, ACC Board chair. \u201cWe are a community college with open campuses serving the Central Texas community, and many ACC students are high schoolers as young as 14 years old.”<\/p>\n

The college also will scale back the number of students and employees on campus when the fall semester begins. Many courses will be held online for the first three weeks of the semester from August 23 through September 12. Courses that require in-person instruction, including labs, will still be held on campus. Those that can be moved to online formats will do so for this period. Beginning Monday, August 16, 2021, ACC also will require all who come to a campus building to complete the college\u2019s self-screening health app<\/a>. <\/p>\n
