Priorities include:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Funding: Investing in Texas Community Colleges \u2014 Texas community colleges seek to increase state formula funding by 8 percent, or $144 million.<\/li>\n<li>Dual Credit: Broadening Access and Sustaining Quality \u2014 Texas community colleges support dual credit programs as both a proven means for students to earn college credits while in high school, and as an important factor in meeting the state\u2019s 60x30TX plan.<\/li>\n<li>Workforce Education: Critical Role of Community Colleges \u2014 Texas community colleges seek increased state investments in community college formula funding to help broaden the reach of career and technical education and continuing education programs.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-flickr wp-block-embed-flickr\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<a data-flickr-embed=\"true\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/accdistrict\/albums\/72157678228183348\/\" title=\"Texas Community College Day 2019 by Austin Community College, on Flickr\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><img src='https:\/\/live.staticflickr.com\/7830\/46017529455_3512f7838f.jpg' width='800' height='600' alt='2019 Community College Day'><\/a><script async src='https:\/\/embedr.flickr.com\/assets\/client-code.js' charset='utf-8'><\/script>\n<\/div>\n<\/figure>\n<p>\u201cOne of the ways we can bring change is having students share their own story with state representatives and senators,\u201d says Dr. Molly Beth Malcolm, executive vice president for Campus Operations and Public Affairs. \u201cA big push we are making this year is a universal system for transferring credits.
