{"id":49281,"date":"2019-02-04T10:19:00","date_gmt":"2019-02-04T15:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/?p=49281"},"modified":"2024-10-29T10:23:33","modified_gmt":"2024-10-29T15:23:33","slug":"acc-hosts-world-renowned-pastry-chef","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/sites.austincc.edu\/newsroom\/2019\/02\/04\/acc-hosts-world-renowned-pastry-chef\/","title":{"rendered":"ACC hosts world-renowned pastry chef"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Austin Community College (ACC) hosted professional pastry chefs from across Texas for a special one-day workshop learning the art of edible works with prominent pastry chef Susan Notter. &nbsp;<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Chef Notter\u2019s professional accomplishments include winning a gold medal at the 2000 Culinary Olympics and being named one of the Top 10 Pastry Chefs in the U.S. by Pastry Arts &amp; Design Magazine. She has also appeared on several Food Network shows, including &#8220;Food Network Challenge,&#8221; \u201cCupcake Wars,\u201d and &#8220;Halloween Wars&#8221; and is now the pastry arts program director at the Pennsylvania School of Culinary Arts.<\/p>\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI learned about Susan Notter when I was in culinary school,\u201d says Ellen Sternau, ACC Culinary Arts associate professor. \u201cShe owned the International School of Confectionary Arts in Switzerland.
